Information About Elizabeth - Tunbridge Wells tutor - (7 reviews)
This is how 3 referees rated Elizabeth:
I am an experienced classics teacher and I hugely enjoy engaging with students of all ages and levels, helping them improve and often outperform expectations.
I have taught classics in grammar and private schools in Kent for over 20 years. Following retirement I have recently started tutoring online. I have an excellent record of my students achieving A and A* at GCSE and A level.
I aim to build confidence with lots of friendly encouragement. I teach essay writing skills, how to improve translation work, grammar tips and text analysis and I help with focused exam preparation. I am able to teach the new GCSE and A level syllabus specifications.
I tutor as flexibly as possible. I can offer a single session for revising a particular topic, or to advise on an essay, or ongoing support where a module needs retaking, or where help is needed with grammar and translation. I can also teach a whole course and I am very happy to teach Latin or Greek to beginners. Tutoring can be weekly, or more or less frequently. I offer sessions of one to two hours, plus a free, no commitment, 30 minute initial discussion and a discount for block bookings.
I tutor via Skype, and where appropriate I provide notes, power points or worksheets prior to the session. I give feedback on emailed work, and I often provide notes after the session. I keep parents regularly informed of progress.
