I am a passionate geographer, first and foremost, although have a keen interest in most academic subjects. I love to learn myself and I think this helps to inspire a similar feeling in my students. I've always worked with young people and really enjoy seeing their confidence and ability grow as they discover their own abilities.
I've been teaching for several years and in that time have taught a wide range of ages and abilities. My key strength is enabling students to reach the top grades available, as I have been an examiner for some years now also.
Alongside teaching I am keen sportswoman and play football regularly.
Currently Head of Geography at St Edmund's College in Hertfordshire. Excellent GCSE and A Level results record.
Previously have taught Business Studies to A Level.
Have tutored both Geography and Business Studies up to A Level.
Examiner for A Level Geography.
I try to determine learning style with the student during the first session - this can be visual, kinaesthetic or otherwise.
Beyond this, I take pains to ensure that every session is tailored to the needs of the student and is carefully prepared to ensure active engagement and learning. I seek regular feedback from both student and parent to ensure satisfaction with the teaching and I use assessment materials to share progress with them.
