I am a fully qualified teacher with a wealth of experience teaching full classes and intervention groups across the age group 7 - 13 yrs. I am committed to helping individuals reach their full learning potential to become confident, independent learners.
My wide experience has given me an excellent understanding of the learning process and I have a good track record of engaging and motivating young people towards achieving their best. I am now wanting to use my experience to tutor young people on a one to one basis. I am calm, kind, patient and have a positive outlook.
I have over 30 yrs experience, teaching all curriculum subjects in Middle, Primary and Special Schools. I am passionate about young people becoming confident readers and writers and have benefitted from intensive training in tutoring pupils one to one through Reading Recovery. I have led literacy in schools and have a wide experience of teaching Yr 6 pupils and sucessfully preparing them for SATs and entrance exams.
I aim to a establish good working relationship with students and parents based on mutual care, respect and good communication. I believe that learning should be non threatening, personalised, fun, relevant and exciting. I am thorough, well organised and put the needs of young people first by encouraging self evaluation and reviewing progress on a regular basis.
