I am passionate about teaching. I have strong interpersonal skills, am self-motivated and enjoy working in a team. I have experience of a variety of educational organisations and I have devised and delivered learning programmes from Key Stage 2 through to 18+. I bring keen analytical skills to developing solutions for whatever is required in my job role. My aim has always been to empower my students and match my delivery to their learning styles.
I have over 30 years teaching experience in the state and private sector. My main subjects are English and Drama which I have tutored to university level. I have a keen interest in developing literacy skills in all age groups. I have a qualification in SPLD and have conducted Dyslexia Assessments. I also have experience of teaching French at Key Sts 2, 3 and 4. I reached the position of Assistant Head Teacher within the state system. I have experience of preparing students for examinations at CEE, NCE, for GCSE, AS/A Level, IGCSE.
I believe the key to successful tutoring lies in accurate baseline assessments and a thorough knowledge and understanding of what the student needs to learn; this is especially important when preparing the student for examinations. This should be followed up by the forming of a working relationship between student and tutor based on mutual respect. Professionalism and integrity are my watchwords.
