Elizabeth is an excellent tutor and tailors the sessions to my son’s needs perfectly. The sessions are well organized and I receive helpful feedback after every session.

Elizabeth has been an excellent tutor to my daughter and I can’t recommend her enough. We have started tuition quite late and Elizabeth was able to organise the lessons to cover necessary GCSE material my daughter had problems with. She had boosted her confidence , strengthened her knowledge and improved her exam skills. Elizabeth’s lessons are well structured with a possibility to be flexible when necessary. She is very easy to communicate with and responds promptly to any queries. Elizabeth’s support and encouragement meant a lot to my daughter.

Elizabeth facilitated this engagement with professionalism and an in-depth knowledge of the kind of help required right from the outset, by getting us to consider the possibility of getting separate tuition for English Language and Literature. This advise has proven to be invaluable. I only hoped it would have come in sooner! Elizabeth is extremely committed to what she does and her regular and frank feedback on progress keeps us in the loop of what is being achieved.

Elizabeth is an excellent English teacher. She tutored my son for a short time which was enough to boost his confidence and helped him achieve his desired grade in English. I would thoroughly recommend her as an English tutor.

The ways she teachers not only makes the lesson interesting but also entertaining so you can make sense of it and have a smile on your face. My son has had one lesson from from Elizabeth so far. However, in that short time, I can say I am extremely impressed with the wonderful easy rapport she made with my son so quickly. He is actively doing the homework she gave him the same day, which is amazing.

Couldn’t agree the Terms and Conditions

I contacted Elizabeth through First tutors as I was looking for an English Tutor for my son with ADD to support with his learning and forthcoming exams. I spoke with Elizabeth and was pleased with her experience and approach and also with her feedback from previous students ,which was excellent. The process to set up lessons was made easy as Elizabeth is very organised and my son starts his tutoring next week and look forward to working with Elizabeth.

Elizabeth is a very experienced trainer. As a foreign english speaker, I sometimes struggle to express my opinions fluently. I had great help from Elizabeth. She helped me build my confidence , identify my weak spots and taught me ways to improve. Thanks.

My daughter has been working with Elizabeth for the last 6 weeks to develop additional English language skills.
It was very clear to me from the start that Elizabeth is a very experienced tutor who has a great deal of knowledge handling children (and probably adults alike) needing to improve their skills. I've found Elizabeth to be very organised, an excellent communicator, patient and excellent at getting in touch with the motivators which have encouraged my daughter feel much happier and confident about the English tasks her school have been asking of her.

As parent, I imagined it would be difficult to know whether the tutor was worth the money without sitting in the background in attendance of every lesson (which I wouldn't do) - Elizabeth must understand this from the parents point of view as she has an excellent way of keeping parents informed with emails very quickly after each session ends. Initially Elizabeth's profile caught my eye because of her NLP skills and I'm really pleased to say that I have no regrets in making contact and arranging the lessons we have.

If there was any feedback I could offer it would be to FirstTutors whose website is quite basic and not very supportive at matching student to tutor before money changes hands. That said - the match turned out well for me and I hope it does you too.

My son has been attending since the beginning of January. There is clear communication and weekly reminder of sessions and a update follows every session. My son seems happy to attend and feels that he is improving.

This feedback is not about the lessons themselves. I haven’t managed to set up tutoring with Elizabeth due to mutual busy diaries. Confirming availability upfront is advisable before proceeding to requesting the tutors details to be released.

Elizabeth is an outstanding teacher. Her knowledge skills and ability to connect with her students is reflected on academic progress and results. However, most importantly we are grateful for the relationship that our daughter has developed with Elizabeth which has been a very positive one. The fact that Elizabeth takes the well-being of her students very seriously especially their mental well-being is piviotal.

This is the first time that we have used a tutor and Elizabeth has been excellent in every way. In a very short space of time we have seen a huge improvement in our son's writing ability and overall confidence in English language (and just generally in himself !). Elizabeth promptly provides feedback after every tuition session and is always happy to discuss any matters further. She is very knowledgable of all aspects of the GCSE syllabus/examination technique and has really inspired our son to enjoy English language (a real first for him). Would thoroughly recommend !

Elizabeth has done wonders in tutoring my son who has come on leaps and bounds with his English. My son finds her extremely easy to get on with and very patient. Elizabeth has made a big difference to my daughter's confidence in her abilities. She has gone back to basics with her and given her great strategies to help with spelling and comprehension. Her school reports reflect her improvements in these areas and we are delighted. I pass on any other feedback to Elizabeth from her school teachers which she immediately begins to incorporate into her lessons with my daughter. She is friendly and approachable in her methods so my daughter feels completely at ease. I have already recommended her to my friends who have children struggling with English and I will continue to recommend her in the future.

Elizabeth has been brilliant with my daughter Gabriella. She prepares well and explains things very clearly and her sessions are enjoyable. With more application and help Gabriella has greatly improved her grades in GCSE English to a 6. I highly recommend Elizabeth.

Elizabeth was a great help with our daughter. She had to retake her GCSE English Lang in November but due to timetable clashes at her school she could not attend the retake lessons in the sixth form. Luckily for us we were able to book a series of lessons (multiple ones each week) over a number of weeks before the exam.
Our daughter found Elizabeth an excellent teacher because she explained how to answer the exams questions in a why that she understood, which the school had failed to do over two years. Our daughter is very strong on the Maths front and I think the quote from her 'Elizabeth has taught me the formula to answer the questions' says it all. The formula being to approach English with inquisitiveness and thrill rather than the robotic fashion in school. As a result she passed her re-take and we are very pleased.

Elizabeth is a very friendly lady. My 14 year old daughter has really enjoyed her lessons as Elizabeth is very engaging and makes the lessons fun.

Very quick and efficient response to initial enquiry. Friendly, easy to communicate with and very helpful. Would definitely recommend to others.
Just a quick update:
My son received GCSE English tuition from Elizabeth after attaining a D grade twice. On his next attempt he achieved the C grade he needed.
My son actually said "I wish Elizabeth had taught me English in school as i would have understood what i needed to learn to get the C in the first place".

Elizabeth has tailored the lessons to my daughters needs and quickly identified her strengths and weaknesses. Already after only 3 weeks my daughter has already learnt some valuable and transferable skills which she can use not only in the lessons but outside in school and in general day to day life. She has even taught her grandparents a technique that not even they knew existed.

I would not have any hesitations in recommending Elizabeth for other students that have specific needs or learning opportunities as to date my daughter has settled well and is enjoying every lesson.

Elizabeth tutored my son for a short time after he initially failed his English GCSE. She gave him confidence through her patience and calm manner. However following a remark my son passed and consequently no longer required her services. I would however recommend her to anyone requiring help in this area.

Elizabeth was very responsive to my initial enquiry which was very much appreciated as I needed to arrange a tutor for my twins who have different needs for their forthcoming English GCSE's. Elizabeth has quickly assessed how best to address those different needs and engaged with my children in a positive and supportive way. They have both said that she has helped them improve already, which only after 4 sessions is very promising.

My daughter Stacey really likes Elizabeth as her tutor. According to Stacey, Elizabeth makes her to understand what is needed to know and she explains everything really well.
