Originally from the States, I arrived in 1996 as a printer to marry my British husband and settled in Manchester where I studied Graphic Design as a mature student gaining a First-Class award. I went on to study my PGCE in Further & Higher Education and began my teaching career as an FE & HE art and design educator.
I am a self-taught artist bookmaker making hand bound books of my own photography and collage. Please see http://www.ekealymorris.com
for more information.
I am a practicing designer and work with fashion brands to market their labels through promotional activity.
I have been an Art & design educator for 16 years both teaching practice and history of Fine Art, Graphic Design, fashion design, fashion communication, photography and media/communication studies. I have taught at BTEC/A-Level, Degree, Masters and Doctoral levels in a variety of institutions throughout the Northwest of England.
Supporting students in developing their confidence in their creative and analytical skills has been a joy for me all these years and it’s a great privilege to join them in their journey to success. I make learning fun through games, exercises, using film and music to illustrate context of subjects and use various assessment methods like presentations, critique of work and written analysis to ensure different learning strengths are supported.
