My name is Edward and I am a 22 year old Accountant for Guardian News and Media. I have a very good mathematics background and thoroughly enjoy the subject. I achieved A in GCSE Mathematics, A in A-Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics and also a First Class in Mathematics and Economics. My hobbies include football (watching and playing), reading and watching documentaries. I am also an actor and a saxophonist. Having been helped by so many people in the past, it is my passion to have the same impact on as many people as possible!
As the firstborn of three children, there has always been a responsibility to teach my siblings life lessons and also help them with their studies. I regularly tutor my younger sister and it has been a joy to witness her progress. Furthermore, during my years at university, I was a mentor for three boys, through which I was also able to help them with their maths and also offer advice on how to study effectively.
Firstly, I seek to ensure that the tutee is comfortable and to assure him/her that they are the focal point - everything revolves around their needs/wants. Secondly, I seek to take the tutee through the practical steps of how to achieve good grades in mathematics - encouraging the tutee that, with hard work, they can fulfill their potential. Lastly, I follow up with the tutee and ensure he is doing the necessary work to get the best grades. Should he have any difficulties/challenges, I am there to help and encourage.
