At school I gained A levels in History and English with a 'distinction' in Geography.
I gained a teaching certificate at St. Luke’s College, Exeter with a P.E. as a first subject and English as a secondary subject.
Attended the University of Edmonton Alberta for a short Phys Ed. Course. (Merit.)
I gained a degree in History. (Exeter University)
At that time P.E. was not considered an academic subject in its own right, but, after completing a History degree at the same time, I was awarded a pass degree in P.E. in **Telephone Number Removed** I gained an (external) Post Graduate Diploma in Education. (London University.)

This has become a market leader and is run by my son Laurence .
Running a long running business has been a fantastic experience.
As far as teaching is concerned, as an organiser and guide to hundreds of groups and thousands of children one has to be highly organised, knowledgeable, lively and interesting or you would not last long. I brought this ability to teaching and apply it to tutor and supply teaching work.

I also give talks to history societies on Harold Godwinson and the Bayeux Tapestry.
I have played rugby union at a very high level and now that I no longer play, I enjoy watching.
I enjoy practical work, gardening and house maintenance.
Best of all – I like my own family holidays and run one each summer.
My son is an expert paraglider and we have flown together in Annecy, Sicily and Grindalwald when we flew along the North Face of the Eiger. (It caused a stir on the internet. You can see this on line.)
