Personal Description:
I am a qualified 'outstanding' maths teacher who currently works for accountancy firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as a consultant and auditor. CRB Checked. Graduate of the University of Bristol having studied Economics and Mathematics. I have a keen interest in education and teaching and have recently received a distinction in my Masters degree in Educational Leadership, focused around pupil progress in mathematics at secondary school.
I also currently volunteer as a HEAPS (Higher Education Access Programme for Schools) mentor to support pupils, from deprived backgrounds and no parental history of attending university, through their studies and applications to Russell Group universities.
I'm also a keen sportsman, regularly playing rugby, football, skiing, running or cycling on a weekend
Tutoring Experience:
As qualified maths teacher, based in Wimbledon within South West London, I am able to offer evening and weekend lessons to students who are studying towards their SATs, GCSEs or A Levels. I spent two years on the Teach First Leadership Development Programme teaching Mathematics in Hull. I qualified as a teacher with ‘outstanding’ status. In my second year of teaching I was employed by my school to coach struggling teachers to improve their practice.
I have proven results both from the pupil's I taught in the classroom and pupils I have tutored 1 on 1.
If you are located in Earlsfield, Wimbeldon, Clapham, Wandsworth, Balham, Southfields, Battersea or Tooting and need some help with Mathematics tutoring then please drop me a line.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to teaching Maths is focussed on building confidence and stripping away the unnecessary complexity that normally comes with the subject. I have an enthusiastic, positive and humorous teaching approach, which is quite rare to find in a mathematician.
