I'm a PhD candidate with degrees in Engineering and Applied Economics, with a knack for breaking down complex ideas into simple and engaging lessons! I am highly enthusiastic about working with young people and motivated by the challenge of bringing out their full academic potential.

Tutoring Experience

-One year of providing 1-1 tuition. (2020-2021)
-Taught for one year (2015-2016) at a Saturday school in West London, providing supplementary education for underprivileged kids (aged 9-14) from the Borough.
-Mentored junior students on a buddy scheme during my undergraduate studies.
- Whilst a sixth former, I provided extra support sessions on a weekly basis to a special needs child in year 10.

Tutoring Approach

I believe the most important skill required by a tutor is the ability to break down complex subjects into conceptual building blocks, that can be collaboratively put together with the student to build an unshakeable conceptual edifice. This is something I prioritise in my own teaching method.

I also think a good tutor must be highly responsive; recognising when a student is struggling and crucially, being able to accurately gauge the impediments to their learning and devise appropriate strategies for overcoming these impediments.

Finally, I think being a strong communicator is key. A good tutor should be careful to use language which enhances the students confidence, and must have the ability to keep students engaged by relating concepts and ideas to real world examples and the students own interests.

These are the values which guide my lessons, and I have been putting them into practice in a range of contexts over the last few years.
