Duncan is an extremely versatile musician, being a violinist, pianist, guitarist, conductor, composer, and producer all at once. He has recently graduated from the University of Manchester with a violin performance diploma from the Royal Northern College of Music, and is passionate about a huge variety of music. His knowledge extends not only to classical styles and repertoire but to popular ones as well, especially within Electronic Dance Music genres upon which he wrote his undergraduate dissertation in 2016.
Duncan has taught music extensively over the years, including visiting Mumbai, India to teach violin and piano with the World Appreciation of Music Foundation in 2013. He has a breadth of experience tutoring music at GCSE and A-Level resulting from a post he held from 2012-2013 as a teaching assistant at Rushcliffe Comprehensive School, Nottingham.
Duncan believes strongly in a highly bespoke method of teaching, and takes great care to ensure that tutees have a clear trajectory in one-to-one sessions, whatever the direction, instrumental or academic. He respects and values unique musical tastes and is enthusiastic about music teaching that invigorates and enthuses tutees, with their own goals and interests at the forefront of their learning.
