Personal Description:

I am an Oxford University graduate with a DPhil and a Masters degree, and I have 11 years of successful private tutoring experience. I tutor primarily online. I have a proven track record of high student acheivement and grade improvement.

*70% of my A-Level students got A* or A grade in 2017

*The biggest grade increase in 2017 was E to A, with several students improving from C to A*

*The average grade increase is 2.6 grades over an academic year

* For the past 4 years 99% to 100% of my students have passed at grade C or above

I regularly tutor home-educated students, who currently make up over 1/3 of my tutees. I am fully aware that home education needs a different approach to school and that home-educating parents often have different pressures to those with children at school. I am a CIE specialist and ALL of my CIE students achieved A/A* in 2016 and 2017. I can teach a complete GCSE or A LEVEL course or I can support you if you are distance learning with another institution.

I tutor students at school, college or university who need some extra help with the syllabus or need to resit an exam. I can help with essay writing, exam skills, or top up course content knowledge. I am also an experienced and qualified Learning Mentor, focusing on academic skills and exam coaching.

I am primarily an online tutor. I offer one-to-one lessons online and I teach academic writing in small tutorial groups both online and around the UK.

Tutoring Experience:

13 years
CIE, AQA, OCR, Edexcel, WJEC

Tutoring Approach:

I am primarily an online tutor. I offer a professional, bespoke tutoring service that tailors lessons to the pace and ability of each individual studenIace and ability of each individual student. There is no `one size fits all` approach. Every student is different and that is reflected in my tutoring style - my job is to find something that works for you and helps you to achieve your goals. I am patient, I am non-judgemental, I will listen to you and I will find an approach that works for you personally. In return I ask that you listen to my suggestions, attend sessions reliably and do the academic practice that we agree upon.
