I'm a native Spanish and Catalan teacher from Barcelona and I'm 32 years old. I moved to Leeds in 2013 but now I'm living in Darrington (Pontefract) and I love Yorkshire.
I'm an experienced teacher with large academic qualification. My first degree was Humanities in the University Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, but I also studied subjects of Literary Theory and Comparative Literature (Literary Studies) in the University of Barcelona.
After finishing Humanities I decided to become teacher and I obtained the Certificate in Pedagogical Aptitude to teach in Secondary Schools.
Currently, I have got specific education updated in Spanish teaching after many studies, workshops and the online Master's degree in Spanish Teaching as a Foreign Language through the University of Barcelona, which I finished this year. After moving to UK I gained the Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in September of 2013.
I'm organised, responsible, reliable, honest and as committed to my learners as to my work.
I started my teaching experience as private tutor in 2002, either as freelance as in company, helping primary and secondary students with Spanish, Catalan, English, literature, history, philosophy, Latin and geography.
Since 2011 I have been teaching English, Spanish and Catalan as foreign languages to pupils, young and adult learners, even for business.
After coming to the UK, I started tutoring GCSE, A-level students and adult learners. Also, I was volunteering from April to July in 2014 at the secondary school St. John Fisher Catholic Voluntary Academy, where later I started working as I'm Spanish Learning Mentor in 2014 and from 2016 as teacher of Spanish and French. I also teach Spanish A-level online with Open Study Campus.
I always strongly focus the classes on the language needs of the student. My main effort for starting teaching/learning, is to assess together the acquired knowledge and skills as knowing the role of the learner in the learning process. After this, it allows me to adapt and prepare lesson plans.
My main objective is enhance the abilities, encourage the interest, and at the end enable the student to control the process independently, think about it, be aware of the achievements and go on to reach specific objectives that we have agreed.
I always teach motivating and enthusing the student towards sense and consciousness of the language. That's why I consider necessary keep communication and agreeing the best ways and purposes to reach an outstanding and successful learning.
