From a young age music has been my main passion. I am an enthusiastic and dedicated musician with a keen interest in teaching. I play guitar, percussion, bass, piano, cello saxophone, and sing. I play in a number of bands and perform regularly in and around Edinburgh. I play mostly acoustic finger style guitar but I also play a mixture of Blues, Funk, Soul, Folk and much more.
The main instruments I teach are Guitar, Drums and Bass
I have been teaching now on and off for eight years. For the last five years I have worked for impact Arts which is a charity organisation running projects with the aim of developing change in people’s lives through the creative arts.
I currently work on the COCO Music Project in Polmont Prison. COCO Music is designed to give young offenders aged between 15-21 the opportunity to: learn how to play musical instruments, DJ, perform and develop skills in the creative arts.
I am also a qualified Arts Award Adviser.
I have a very gentle and natural approach to teaching, I taylor all of my lessons and workshops on the participant and work from a basis of what the students interests are.
Through working on youth projects over the last the five years I have honed my skills as a tutor to be articulate, diligent, versatile, and able to find creative solutions to problems.
I thrive in teaching in challenging situations and I am adaptable to changing environments. I am confident, outgoing, easy to work with and have a positive outlook towards teaching music to all people of all ages and backgrounds.
