I am a very successful teacher and tutor specialising in Physics, Maths, Chemistry, Biology and Combined Sciences . I have over twenty five years experience in Secondary classrooms and seven years as a private Home Tutor and Maths/Sciences specialist for Worcestershire Education Authority's Medical Education Team working with students unable to attend school for medical reasons. The main focus of my work lies in preparing students for success in GCSE exams.
Assistant Teacher, 11-18 Comprehensive School, (Physics, Chemistry, Combined Science and Maths to GCSE). Head of Physics 11-18 Comprehensive ( extending my teaching to A-level Physics) . Head of Science Department 11-16 School and Community College (all Sciences and Maths to GCSE, ITC 11-14) Tutor for a Youth Theatre Group (part time). Head of Faculty of Sciences and Design-Technology (extending my teaching to include Electronics to GCSE), also holding the post of IT co-ordinator. Head of Faculty of Design-Technology (further extending my teaching to include Resistant Materials, Home Economics, Art and Design to KS3) I currently offer one to one tuition in all the Sciences plus Maths to GCSE and Physics to A-level.
I offer friendly relaxed lessons in your own home using a variety of learning materials and methods, sometimes using texts you are currently working from, or others that I will bring or advise you to obtain, some lessons will include internet based presentations, at other times there will be more traditional discussion, diagrams and demonstrations. I adapt my teaching style to the learning style of my tutee, tailoring lessons to suit personal needs and goals. I am able draw upon my extensive experience and an armoury of techniques acquired in opening the doors to learning for thousands of students and help you find the keys to successful and rewarding study. Most of my tutees seek examination success and with me it is the norm for them to outperform their peers, raise their grade by one or two levels, gain confidence and attain a sure knowledge of their subject.
