I am an experienced Science Teacher at Sevenoaks School- an independent boarding school with some of the top academic results in the country. I have also taught Maths to all levels at another top independent school, and have 10 years previous tutoring experience in Science and Maths.
Previously I completed my PhD at the University of Cambridge and my Undergraduate/ Masters degrees at Imperial College London. I have also completed my PGCE teaching qualification. Other interests of mine include music, rowing, cooking and cycling.
I have several years teaching experience in Science and Maths at some of the top British independent schools. I also have 10 years of tutoring experience to students of all levels in Science and Maths. This experience means I have a good understanding as to what is required from exam boards, as well as knowing where many of the common misconceptions of students lie.
I find seeing the improvements made by my students very rewarding. I have taught students of a wide range of abilities - from very bright pupils who require a confidence boost to secure the top grades, through to other students having difficulties in a particular subject who would like to achieve a pass mark. Every student has a different approach to learning, so I adapt my teaching methods to best suit the learning style of each student.
My tutoring is generally tailored to the learning styles of the individual as much as possible. This involves making use of various resources to ensure thorough understanding, and clarifying some of the misconceptions which many students have.
