This is how 2 referees rated David:
Following a career in IT development and support in Investment Banking I sought a new challenge in a career switch to teaching Mathematics. After completing my PGCE at Kingston University I have taught from Year 7 to Year 13, as well as taking a full part in school life as a tutor and with extra-curricular activities. I feel that I have met that challenge in a successful large comprehensive school, but prefer teaching at A Level and to individuals, so I have started to take on pupils for private tutoring, in addition to teaching at Surrey University International Student Centre and at Reigate Sixth Form College.
Secondary Maths PGCE
5 years experience teaching maths in Secondary Schools (including AS and A2 Maths)
2 years teaching on the Foundation Year Programme at University of Surrey International Student Centre (A Level Maths/Further Maths)
2 years as Examiner for both Edexcel and AQA boards on various Pure Maths Modules (C2, C3, C4 and International A Level)
Contact me to discuss your requirements if you need some extra help with your Maths for any of the following reasons (or any other):
• You are retaking an A Level Module in Year 13 and need more practice or re-explanation
• You are finding AS Level mathematics hard and need extra teaching and practice to keep up
• You are retaking GCSE maths to boost your grade
• You want to make sure you give yourself the best chance for GCSE or A Level with extra work before you start the course.
• You need extra revision help in the run-up to exams
I have tuition times available at the end of the school/college day, and some times during the day (for A level students with free periods) and during school/college holidays. I am happy to arrange a regular time, or provide short-term tuition (e.g. before an exam).
The rates I quote are for tutoring at my home. For tutoring at your home I will also charge for my time spent travelling.
Because I teach at Reigate College, I am unable to take on tutoring work for current Reigate College students (the College policy on staff taking on additional work forbids this situation).
Cancellation: If you give at least 24 hours notice I will attempt to rearrange the lesson at a mutually convenient time. If less than 24 hours notice is given the cancelled lesson must be paid for.
