An enthusiastic, highly professional and personable, qualified tutor, I enjoy finding out what motivates people and under what learning conditions they are most comfortable. I always keep up to date with the latest learning theories and teaching methods to enable me to adapt my teaching style to suit individual learners, with the aim of helping them to be successful.
As a father of 3 children, I have a patient and empathetic disposition and have learned that listening can be as equally important to developing understanding as teaching content matter.
With 8 years experience of teaching, Functional, ESOL and IT skills across London, I have the necessary skills, experience and passionate commitment to continue to perform very well as a Tutor.
I have a good track record of getting results, by engaging, helping and motivating learners to achieve their potential. From initial assessment, induction meetings regular reviews and group or one to one sessions, I can advise and support learners throughout their program, to passing their assessments and exams.
I can create bespoke schemes of work and lesson plans to cater for the specific needs of groups or individuals and have developed excellent communication and group management skills.
I have also given various successful workshops in academic settings, teaching A level students various aspects of the A level Psychology course.
I take a highly professional, person centered approach to teaching. I feel it is important to quickly establish the student's learning style and how they acquire and understand information and concepts. I develop bespoke learning plans and schemes of work which are most suitable to individuals and help "turn them on" to the subject matter. I help learners to develop revision strategies and planning so they can focus on how to assimilate course content and to perform well in exams.
