Information About David - Thornton Heath tutor

English (Foreign Language)
I am a Music graduate with a 2:1 degree from Newcastle University and have been teaching since 2006. Prior to this I was a professional touring musician and have a great passion for meeting and working with people from different cultures. I studied teaching English as a foreign language at International House London and have completed their Cambridge-accredited CELTA course with 'Above Standard' grades. I'm a friendly, outgoing person who likes to build a good rapport with students.
I have been a private English tutor for 6 months (this is why I offer such good value), mainly working with foreign adults who are keen to improve their conversational English, grammar, or a specific area of the language such as Business English. I have also taught drums and percussion on a private one-to-one basis for over 7 years. Previous to my private tutoring, I taught English as a foreign language at International House London, teaching a wide range of age groups, nationalities, and abilities (from beginner to advanced).
As an experienced teacher I believe in a personalised tutoring style, focusing on what the learners' priorities are, and most importantly making each lesson fun and enjoyable. Everyone learns in a different way and I excel in getting the best out of each individual.
