Personal Description:

I am a graduate of Oxford University (2015), where I achieved the highest finals marks across the entire University (Gibbs Prize for Philosophy in my honour school) and a First Class Honours in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. In addition I won an undergraduate Scholarship following a Distinction in Preliminary Examinations, and 5 Jesus College prizes for meritorious academic work.

I have since graduated from a Masters of Science (2017) in Political Theory from the London School of Economics (LSE), where I achieved a high Distinction, specialising in Philosophy and Ethics, Chinese Political Thought, Liberalism and Contemporary Disputes about Justice.

I have previous teaching experience and am well accustomed to contemporary Economics, Philosophy and Politics / Government courses at UK universities. I live in London and in Parliament, which gives me further insight into career-related aspects of Philosophy, Politics and Economics. I speak Mandarin, having spent much of my childhood in China. I am keen to help UK and overseas students studying in London with their study of any three of these disciplines.

Tutoring Experience:

I have tutored a number of economics, philosophy and politics students at universities including LSE, UCL and SOAS. I have previously led group study at Oxford University among peers, and taught in schools in China, as well as youth outreach and one-on-one supervision in the UK. I have also designed my own courses for those who wish to study these subjects independent of an official qualification.

Tutoring Approach:

I have benefited greatly from Oxford's one-on-one tutorial system, which I would hope to recreate in my own tutoring. This means encouraging discussion and debate, approaching issues critically, and ensuring a good relationship on equal terms between tutor and student. I have also experienced LSE's class-based teaching method at a postgraduate level. As I hope my academic success illustrates, I always have exams and results in mind, and would therefore tailor tutorials according to the student's academic needs.
