Hi! I'm David,
I am currently finishing up my Computer Science degree at the University of York.
I spend my free time drinking coffee with friends and love to travel as much as I can, taking as many photos as possible along the way.
If you think I might be the right fit to help either you or your child, feel free to drop me a message and I would love to meet you!
Alongside many hours of volunteering in different areas working with children, I first began teaching by assisting in Key Stage 3 Computer Science lessons, volunteer teaching in Cambodia, and mentoring GCSE maths students both at Aylesford School and outside.
During the pandemic, I moved to full-time teaching. After amassing over 400 hours of (online) 1-to-1 tuition with Explore Learning, I started my very own freelance tutoring adventure - and so here we are!
Having been working completely independently for almost 3 years, I have seen many students through both GCSEs and A-Levels, and have had long-term students across all years.
I am a believer in practical and fun teaching. Many pupils never succeed in certain subjects because their natural predisposition of dislike towards the subject is just reinforced by boringly, purely theoretically and dispassionately taught lessons. This kind of poor teaching should never happen but unfortunately is too often a reality. Through personal experience, I have learnt the importance of making subjects engaging and intriguing and so this is at the heart of my tutoring. I think a crucial part of teaching (that school often fails at) is tailoring learning to the individual's style, experience, and mentality. I aim to connect with my students, understand them, and deliver captivating lessons.
Excited to hear from you soon!
