This is how 2 referees rated David:
I am an outstanding teacher of chemistry in a local comprehensive school. I am also deputy head of science which gives me a very good overview of all the teaching styles within my department. I completed a Bachelor of science education from the University of Limerick which was a science degree combined with four years of teacher training. I am currently studying towards a Masters degree in Education. I am happy to travel around 15 miles from either Folkestone or Canterbury.
I have taught in a comprehensive school in the local area for the past four years and have been successful in becoming deputy head of science in that time. I have taught all sciences at GCSE and chemistry at both AS and A2 level with a proven track record of achievement. I have tutored pupils successfully in both the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
As in my teaching, I like to use lots of analogies and examples to help pupils grasp concepts and then reinforce that learning through a focused use of exam materials when tutoring. I think that using marking schemes really help pupils to understand what exactly examiners are looking for in the questions they are asking. Having worked for exam boards marking chemistry exams I am very confident in addressing common misconceptions which cause many pupils to underperform in exams
