Hi my name is David and I have been teaching for 12 years and experienced at delivering quality in person and virtual online sessions.. My expertise in science runs from KS3 right through to A level. I have extensive knowledge and experience of how to support and challenge students to achieve their potential. I am also very approachable and well liked by those I have had the pleasure of working with.

Tutoring Experience

I have been a qualified science teacher for 12 years and I'm currently working in a school in south west London where I've held or hold the positions of head of science, head of chemistry and head of KS4 science. I've taught KS3, GCSE biology, physics and chemistry and A level chemistry.
I have experience of teaching 1000s of in person and 100s of online lessons throughout lockdown and have been tutoring since 2017. I have experienced of teaching and tutoring with a range of goals and challenges from KS3 support to support students in obtaining an A* at A level so they could go on to study Chemistry at Oxford
I also offer group tutoring sessions which is not shown in the course options which has the added benefits of peer support and a lower rate than one-to-one sessions, so super value for money.

Tutoring Approach

I'm patient when explaining concepts and/or helping students work through difficult problems. I'm empathetic with students to understand their unique challenges and provide personalised support. I try to be interactive and engaging by coming up with new and creative ways to help students learn. I'm structured and organised and have a clear plan for each session to help maximize the student's learning. Every session has multiple points to check understanding and this is used to steer the course of the session to work on weaknesses and make strengths even stronger.
