I am a personable, reliable and dedicated professional, but also a loving mother of two young children. I appreciate the demands that A level studies can have on students and their parents; I hope that I can help to ease a little of that pressure.
I am currently employed as the Head of Psychology at a local comprehensive school with 7 years teaching experience. I have supported students with varying levels of ability, and consistently achieve impressive A level results. I have extensive knowledge of the AQA curriculum, and a repertoire of strategies to guide students through the learning process.
I have a passion for Psychology which comes across in my teaching. I make lessons engaging, yet focussed, in order to help students break down complex ideas into manageable chunks of information that they can digest and understand.
Using a range of questioning techniques, both verbal and written, I am able to assess a student’s needs, and tailor my teaching to address any necessary gaps or misconceptions in knowledge.
I appreciate the importance of students learning from a range of different methods, but most importantly I encourage and offer the opportunity for students to explore and apply their knowledge of psychological theory to understand behaviour.
I can help students understand Psychology content, exam requirements and offer guidance on how to improve essay writing.
