I specialise in English Literature for GCSE and A Level, English as a foreign language (IELTS, TEFL, Cambridge Young Flyers) and Oxbridge entrance. Private English Literature Tutor
Throughout university I tutored a range of private GCSE and A Level students in English Literature, along with giving tuition and talks on Oxbridge entry.
I believe that students learn best in a friendly, creative environment.
While my Oxford degree in English Literature, along with my TEFL training, have given me a strong grounding in teaching a range of curricula, I'm always seeking new ways to communicate that are fun, creative, and give the student a sense of agency.
On the literature side of things, my background in the arts and creative writing allow me to put a twist on tired teaching methods, whether it be reading around the text, using games and unusual source materials, or relating a books themes to current politics and pop culture.
As a language teacher, I've worked with a wide range of students in the UK and abroad, and pride myself on creating an atmosphere that fosters confidence in all aspects of English. I teach regular IELTS classes both in person and online, and have also prepared students for Cambridge Young Flyers.
