Hello! I am a qualified science teacher, exam marker and tutor. I am a current working teacher in a local school in Dudley. I teach all branches of science after falling in love with teaching science a few years ago. I hold a PGCE in secondary science education specialising in chemistry and an Honours Bachelor degree in Biomedical science.
I am very much aware of the difficulties of learning new and difficult material, and as a current teacher, an occupation requiring enthusiasm, resilience, and patience, these qualities make me an excellent tutor.
I fell in love with science from a young age and this subject area has always been my main focus in my career. I am delighted to help with any branch of science, chemistry is my specialism, but I have tutored biology and physics also. I have experience teaching and tutoring both AQA and Edexcel schemes. I have had previous experience as an AQA examiner which means I have an insight into exam techniques and required skills for the latest curriculum.
I look forward to meeting you and offering my wide range of support!
I am a current teacher working in a local school in Dudley. I have completed my teacher training (PGCE) and also my NQT year. This is my fourth year of teaching science in secondary schools.
Currently, I teach biology, chemistry and physics to year 7-11. I also teach triple science to select students in the school at the moment which includes further content and greater depth of knowledge by the pupils.
I have also tutored a number of different people over the last few years, from KS3 early intervention to GCSE exam preparation.
Before starting a session, it is important that I identify any weak areas and go at a pace which is suitable yet challenging enough to get maximum learning from.
Once identified, the sessions need to be tailored to the individual, as not everyone learns the same way. I try to use a variety of different techniques, exam questions and papers, diagrams and short tasks. A wider variety of tasks will really cement understanding and enhance the quality of learning.
