I have eight years secondary school experience at a school in Greenwich Borough teaching English at KS3, 4 and 'A' level.
I also have 11 years TESOL experience in various schools in London. TESOL teaching includes 1 to 1 tutoring as well as group tutoring all levels, from beginner to advanced. I have also done a year voluntary TESOL teaching in Tanzania.
I also have seven years 1-2-1 S.E.N private tuition experience.
I have tutored both children and adults from all walks of life for all sorts of reasons and tailored their course to suit their individual needs.
I love teaching but more so I love watching a student progress. To get the best out of a student, it is important that I know what exactly they wish to improve on, for example basic literacy, reading, writing, vocabulary, spelling or a bit of everything. If I can gain as much information as possible before we start the better. However, I will give students a basic "test" so that I can best gauge their levels and areas that need improving.I create a warm and comfortable atmosphere and use a variety of texts and activities to keep the student engaged.
Depending on the needs of the student, I will tailor my teaching methods and resources in to suit.
