Personal Description:

Originally from Manchester, I'm a recent graduate in Law from the University of Cambridge (Downing College) where I attained a strong 2.1 classification. Having just moved down to London, I am studying towards an LLM in International Commercial Law at UCL and so have both knowledge and enthusiasm to pass on to any potential tutees! I achieved all A* grades at GCSE level, and A* grades in Mathematics and English Literature at A-Level (along with A grades in Spanish, History, and Critical Thinking) and so know what it takes to succeed at all of these subjects.

I am passionate about being able to help people achieve their potential and so, as a tutor, my primary aim would be to ensure each of my tutees gets every mark they deserve in whatever assessment they are working towards.

Whilst being able to tutor in Law, English, Maths and Entrance Exams, I will also be able to hone in on tutees' grammar, sentence structure and examination technique, improving their written English so that it is as concise as possible ensuring maximum marks.

As far as entrance exams are concerned, I have successfully sat the Law National Admissions Test (LNAT), gaining offers from the King's College London, University College London and the University of Durham when I applied for undergraduate courses. Furthermore, my study of Critical Thinking at A-Level gives me great experience in negotiating tricky entrance exam-style problem questions.

Tutoring Experience:

Whilst I have no specific teaching experience, I strongly believe that having benefited from numerous different types of teaching style throughout my school and university career, I can draw upon all of my experience to get the best out of any potential tutee. In Cambridge, we were taught in small groups (2-3 people), in a highly interactive environment, and so I am confident that I can create a similar, vibrant and interactive atmosphere for the benefit of my tutees.

Formerly, I was the President of the Cambridge University Sixth Form Law Conference (**Web Address Removed**), where 250 sixth formers would travel to Cambridge for an extended taste of what University life was like, and so I have experience in interacting, mentoring and advising students of that age.

Tutoring Approach:

My friends would describe me as a relaxed and relatively laid back person, and I believe that to truly benefit from study, a calm, clear and coherent mind is essential. As such, my tutor sessions would first and foremost be enjoyable, with an emphasis on there being an atmosphere of friendliness and cooperation. I would say that a key problem in some people's teaching is that a barrier is often constructed between tutee and tutor when this feeling of cooperation is replaced by one of dictation. That said, there can be no doubt as to what the final goal is, and so I would ensure such an atmosphere would not hinder my ability to teach or the tutee's ability to take on information.

I understand that each tutee will have different learning requirements, and each person responds in different ways to a variety of teaching techniques. Thus, my approach would of course always be tailored to the individual I am tutoring.
