I am a Headmistress of a Junior School. I am married with two children of my own. I have an excellent understanding of the educational provision locally and nationally and appreciate what skills are required throughout the Entrance Test process.
I have been teaching for 30 years and have experience of teaching in both the Independent and State sectors of education.
I have experience of teaching pupils of all abilities including those with a diagnosis of dyslexia. I have extensive experience of tutorin pupils for 11+ and Entrance examinations. My main teaching subject is English.
My approach to tutoring is to develop skills and to build confidence. I fully appreciate that Entrance Assessment can be stressful for parents and pupils alike and I therefore seek to reduce this by developing excellent relationships and trust. My resources are current and varied and I adopt a very individual approach as pupils' learning styles are wide. I have a good sense of humour and I also understand the demands of the academic year which is important when deciding the pace of pupils' learning.
I am available for tutoring in the evenings and at weekends and I offer intensive study courses during school holidays.
