I am a friendly and dynamic tutor with a first class degree in English Language and Literature from Oxford University.
My main area of expertise is in English (Language and Literature) and History. However, I can also tutor other humanities subjects up to GCSE and KS2 and KS3 Sciences and Maths.
I try and ensure my students have fun during the lessons, whilst maintaining a professional level of conduct.
I have tutored for a year in London and whilst at University I took on students during my holidays in Dorset. One GCSE English Literature student improved from a D to a B and my A-level English Literature student achieved an A* at A-level.
I pride myself in my ability to build confidence in my students through encouragement, patience and creating an environment in which they are not afraid to ask questions. I also try and incorporate current affairs and contemporary issues into my teaching so that the students gain a greater understanding of the subject itself and the wider world in which they are living.
I normally start by establishing the needs of my student before devising an ongoing strategy. I use a mix of established classroom resources and my own material depending on the age of the student and the subject area on which we are working.
