English (Foreign Language)
Hello. My name is Connie, I am a qualified Modern Foreign Languages teacher, I completed my PGCE at The University of Nottingham in 2012. I recently left my post in an independent boarding school as my husband relocated for work. I was born in Chile and I am completely bilingual (English/Spanish), I can also speak basic French and I have taught it to KS3.
I have been teaching Spanish full time for the last 5 years. My latest IGCSE results were 83% A*-A and 89% A/A* at A Level. I am fully up to date with curriculum changes and I am comfortable teaching all abilities, from complete beginners to advanced. I have successfully tutored one of my students through the Oxbridge application process, they are now reading Spanish and French at Cambridge University.
I have also experience teaching both GCSE and IGCSE as well as the new AS and A2 specs. I am comfortable teaching languages in full classes, small groups and individually on a one-to-one basis.
I have also previously worked in Summer Schools, tutoring EAL students. Please ask for further information.
My style of teaching is interactive, engaging and flexible.
Initially we will make a tailored learning plan which will take into account what you would like to get out of these sessions, whether it is to prepare for an exam or simply learn/improve a new language. The lessons will then be tailored to your specific needs and requirements, if applicable structured to your exam specifications to ensure best results.
The aim of my lessons is not only that you learn and improve on the language but that you enjoy doing so.
We will focus on the core skills, listening, speaking, reading and writing.
