This is how 2 referees rated Claudia:
I am 26-year old have lived in London since July 2011. I have a bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture from CEDIM, Mexico. Following my degree, I made a conscious decision to remain in the education sector, where I have now amassed over 7 years of experience (both part-time and full-time).
I consider myself a warm, energetic and king-hearted person with a passion for working with children. I possess a highly creative skill set, partly owing to my degree in architecture and design, which I have nurtured during my years as a teaching assistant.
My primary hobby is flamenco, which I have been practicing for 10 years and have been teaching to young girls for 6 years. I also have a keen interest in film, travel, and psychology.
I'm a qualified Spanish Teacher for young learners by the Instituto Cervantes in London. I have been working with children for more than 7 years now and I continue to relish the experience and find it ever more rewarding. My experience includes work as a teaching assistant in a leading Mexican primary school for 2 years, work as a religion and values teacher, as well as a Flamenco teacher for young girls for 6 years.
The 2 years I spent at San Roberto School were the most important for developing my skillset as I had the opportunity to take numerous courses in education and applied classroom methods.
Since being in the UK, I have been working full time for a family raising their newborn baby boy and 3 year old daughter. My pedagogic responsibilities with the daughter include reading and writing, and a basic introduction to Spanish.
I frequently draw on my creative skills, enthusiastic personality, and the courses I took at San Roberto School (Mexico) to engage the children I teach. For example, I teach Spanish through the use of interactive exercises, songs and games, and have also learnt to use more structured tools for older children.
For children with no knowledge of the language. The tutoring includes counting, colours, greetings, days of the week, basic everyday vocabulary and other basic words.
For children who have a basic knowledge of Spanish and want to improve their vocabulary and feel more confident with the language. At this level, depending on the age, the children do grammar, conversation practise, reading, videos and games.
Before starting the classes the level for each child is chosen depending on the child level and the goals he/she wants to achieve.
