I have been living in the UK for more than 18 years and after completing the citizenship test I have been awarded British citizenship.
I am a qualified Teacher of Spanish with a CE (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector).
I also have a Foundation Certificate in Teaching Adults Languages: Spanish, in addition to a BA in Media, MA in Media and Culture and a Certificate as a Community Interpreter.
I am also a writer and author having written a number of Life Stories relating to the Latin American and Spanish speaking community living in London.
In my spare time I take part in theatrical performances and dance with community groups living in London as well as participating in sporting activities such as yoga, aerobics, body balance, Zumba, etc.
I am experienced interpreter having worked in hospitals and social services.
My additional qualifications and experience have enhanced my language teaching ability in terms of engaging with and motivating my students.
I have more than 12 years of experience in teaching Spanish to students including adults of all levels in schools, colleges, at their work place or privately in their homes.
Examples of my experience in teaching in education centres include:
Hounslow Adult and Community Education
North West London College
Merton Adult Education College.
My experience teaching in the private sector has normally been one to one.
It includes specialist areas of language and vocabulary such as Banking, Law, Insurance, Environmental Topics, Pharmaceutical, New Media Technology and Security, amongst others.
This particular group of students requires a very in-depth knowledge and understanding of the countries they are going to as work in as well as specific Spanish qualifications.
Their training involves a great emphasis on cross cultural approaches, knowledge of political and social affairs of the countries they are going to work in, as well as obtaining an excellent command of the target language.
My teaching involves preparing learners to take specific qualifications approved by examiners boards such as AQA, EDEXCEL or OCR and/ or international qualifications such as the European Framework of Reference for Languages or the Official Spanish Exam (DELE).
I am also involved in exam marking and student assessments
I have concentrated on developing my teaching skills through CPD during my teaching career.
In addition to traditional teaching methods I am fully conversant with new teaching methods such as the use of white smart boards, power point presentations and interactive blending methods of teaching.
I also work using Skype and other distance methods of teaching and I understand the requirements of such technology.
My teaching work typically includes seminars, workshops, tutorials and assignments promoting active and independent learning by the student and providing appropriate support as required.

Claudia is a good teacher and has tailored her approach to suit my daughter’s needs.
Since the lessons have started my daughter has gained much needed confidence in Spanish and this is showing through to her school work and hopefully to her GCSE result.
Claudia is punctual, enthusiastic and respectful. We thoroughly recommend her.
Thanks for your comments.
For me it is very important that students feel that their educational needs are resolved in a clear and pleasant way. I also care a lot that they achieve autonomy and so they can arrive at the exams with peace of mind.
