This is how 2 referees rated Claudia:
My name is Claudia and I am Italian. I left my hometown, Genoa, the city of Christopher Columbus and pesto sauce, straight after university to work as an Italian teacher abroad. I have lived five years in Australia and recently moved to London to be closer to my family.
I have a lot of experience in teaching Italian to English speakers. In 2009, I started my teacher career as a teaching assistant in a secondary school in Melbourne, and in 2010 I completed a Postgraduate Diploma of Education, gaining a qualification as a secondary school teacher of Italian and Humanities. I have worked ever since mainly with senior secondary school students, but I have also held positions at language schools which have allowed me to teach Italian to a wide variety of students, from pre school children to adults. I have tutored countless year 12 students, preparing them for the oral and written Italian exam of their VCE ( the Victorian senior high school certificate).
In every lesson, I provide my students with plenty of practice in the four skill areas ( listening, speaking, writing and reading), identifying areas that need support. Italian grammar is also one of my specialties ( and passions) and I always like to ensure that my students are confident about their grammar, as I think it can allow them to express themselves more freely in their new language. I plan my lessons and create learning material according to my students' interests. For my high school students, I always ensure I am following the requirements of their curriculum and examinations.
