This is how 2 referees rated Clarisse:
I was born and raised in Belgium. I obtained a degree in romance philology at Université catholique de Louvain, in Belgium. I also have a PGCE (Belgian equivalent) and a degree in French as a foreign language. I love teaching all ages and I always knew it was the job I wanted to do. I also love travelling and learning about different cultures, and I believe it comes mainly through languages.
After working one year in a secondary school in Brussels, I left for Mexico where I taught one year both teenagers and adults one year at the Alliance Française. I taught at the French Institute in London and now I have been working for six years in a local independent school where the Early Years are bilingual French-English. I have experience with primary and secondary students, Common Entrance, GCSE, and the French language examinations DELF, DALF and TCF. I am also a fluent Spanish speaker.
Every student is different and has different needs. We first have a conversation together and I assess them to see their level. I also ask them what they like and what they expect from the lesson. From there I tailor the suitable approach for them.
In my lessons we alternatively do the four language skills (speaking, writing, listening and reading) with a communicative approach, reinforced with grammar. I use textbooks and my own documents. When possible, we also learn about French culture. My aim is for the students to obtain good results and to gain in confidence in a fun and relaxing environment.
