I am a highly qualified private tutor, experienced in tutoring students at a wide range of levels. I received my PhD from the University of Manchester, which is one of the top universities for engineering in the world. Even though I am an established researcher, my heart is in teaching. I also enjoy creating teaching resources to help generate interest in maths and physics, which I think is an important part of effective learning. In addition to improving grades, under my tuition students have actually enjoyed themselves — taking away the fear often associated with maths and physics. Over the years I have received many testimonials of happy students and parents.
I began teaching in 2005, whilst working towards my PGCE, and began tutoring in 2007, as a postgraduate. Once I completed my PhD, I decided to tutor full time, and have been running a successful business for over six years now.
Originally all of my tuition was face-to-face but now I also have online students. With the aid of some simple but effective technology, tutoring can be brought to students all over the world. Why be limited to the tutors in your local area?
My approach varies considerably depending upon the student — I pride myself on my ability to adapt. I am always friendly, patient and understanding. This is vital for maths and sciences, as they often cause distress to students at school and to adult learners, alike.
The service I provide gives you much more than just the hour of tuition time. Tutoring is my full time profession, so I am able to put all my time and effort into getting the most out of my students. I am happy to give homework, feedback and analysis, and be contacted outside tutorials.
