I have been teaching geography for 19 years. Im passionate about helping students to improve their knowledge, understanding and skills in preparation for exams. I have tutored for 10 years, with a track record of significantly improving results for students both at GCSE and A-Level geography.
I've been a qualified teacher since 1999. Working in a number of secondary schools I have experience of teaching geography from aged 11-18. This has included GCSE and A level teaching in numerous exam boards. I have tutored for AQA and Edexcel new specifications at gcse and a level, and currently teach the new linear specification for OCR at A-Level. I have run a variety of field trips and have an deep understanding of individual investigations and coursework elements for GCSE and A level.
My philosophy to tuition is to first listen to the student and what they believe are their areas of strength and areas for development. I draw upon evidence from prior exam performance and current exam practice to diagnose gaps in knowledge and skills and then tailor this to the individual needs of the student. I draw upon a spectrum of teaching and learning resources and techniques with proven results in improving performance. I track with the student where improvements are being made to encourage and motivate them further.
