I am a fully qualified Science teacher (Biology specialism) with over 10 years of experience, both in the classroom and as a tutor. I have been Head of Biology since 2008 and have taught a wide range of students both AS and A2 Biology, and G.C.S.E Biology. I am familiar with a wide range of specifications.
As a Biology teacher, I am passionate about my subject in a way that helps to motivate and inspire students of all abilities. I have tutored Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level students including an Oxbridge candidate who has gone on to study medicine at Cambridge. My goal as a tutor is to help students both reach for and fulfil their potential. I carefully tailor each session to the needs of the individual, thereby boosting their confidence and so enabling them to achieve their academic goals. Seeing students grow in confidence and getting the results they deserve is a very rewarding experience and I know that one to one support makes that difference.
My approach to tutoring encompasses a range of strategies, but above all I aim to provide a tailored programme that is best suited to the individual's needs. I have tutored students from across the full spectrum of age and ability, from those facing particular challenges with their learning to assisting gifted students seeking to extend their studies. My approach to tutoring is always determined by an assessment of the student’s needs and establishing realistic targets for achievement.
