I am a highly energetic person with an enthusiasm for learning. I an currently completing a Masters in Autism and hold a BEd primary teaching degree from Queens University Belfast.
I have been teaching ASD and ASN classes for
10 years. I've always held a passion for helping remove barriers to learning for children, helping them to not only achieve but be happy, confident individuals.
I was inclusion manager in my last post which I held for 2 years before moving to south Lanarkshire. I have worked with all abilities and levels and have experience of all levels of the Curriculum for Excellence. I cater for all types of learners and can adapt any lesson to suit alternative learning styles.
I want pupils to enjoy sessions so I provide concrete and practical ways of learning. I feel that this way pupils will recall key ideas better.
I always encourage the learner to take the lead in their learning, this way self esteem issues are also being addressed. I encourage partnership with parents, by working together targets will be met.
