I was a maths teacher for four years teaching 11-18 across the range of abilities. Currently working for a private company and creating my own resources for teachers / tutors. I have a strong background in mathematics, computing and sciences with experience of hundreds of hours of one-to-one tutoring.
With the new specification A-level, be aware that the content has become a lot harder. The combination of mechanics and statistics covered on Edexcel scheme along with having to prove concepts from first principles make having a clear and confident understanding essential. I have been tutoring mechanics & statistics for years, as well as delivering A-level physics on request. I can quickly and concisely cover all pure topics on the new scheme to a suitable standard.
Changes to Edexcel also include the prospect of interpreting large data sets provided before the exam. Covering these topics can require quite specific specialist prior knowledge from the tutor, particularly the pedagogy of explaining this well.
Changes to AQA include the choice of two from the three applied modules. For the full A-level course, this could include topics from modules formerly known as Decision 2 and Statistics 2 which are a lot more difficult than the first modules.
I am confident I can cover all the A-level topics. Please get in touch directly if you'd like assistance with the new (much much harder) Further Maths scheme, this can be offered on request (price to be confirmed depending on demand).

I have taught Key Stage 3 to 5, preparing classes for both higher and foundation tier GCSE on multiple exam boards. I have experience working with those with special educational needs or English as an additional language, as well as extending learning for high attaining pupils. I am proficient in tutoring A-level modules in Pure, Further Pure, Statistics and Mechanics, along with Decision modules.
I have tutored a-level physics, and this can be done in addition to maths. Although I'm adept at the topic, it's not my specialism which is why I do not offer it as a stand alone topic.
With notice I can also offer GCSE chemistry or physics, although these are not my specialisms, I focus primarily on the maths contents of these courses and can cover the subject specific content over time.
I work with pupils to best ascertain their current learning needs, discussing where they would like to be and over what time frame. Generally my pupils describe me as relaxed and approachable as I enjoy the subjects I offer. I am patient and able to answer any subject specialist question, developing understanding of the key concepts and highlighting common exam questions approaches. Using the one-on-one dialogue you don't get in a classroom, I personalise the learning for the pupils and develop learning activities that help the pupil achieve their full potential.
