Personal Description:

I am a professional musician who is also a very experienced teacher. I teach piano, keyboard, singing and music theory lessons to all ages and abilities. I strongly believe that music lessons should be fun and enjoyable and this is important regardless of whether students are learning for leisure or studying for exams.
I have O-Level Music grade A, A-Level Music grade A, a Graduate Diploma in Music (degree equivalent)-Distinction in Performance and a PGCE in Music Education.
I also have Grade 8 Piano- Distinction, Grade 8 Singing -Distinction, Grade 6 Flute-Distinction and LTCL Music Theory.
I charge £13 for 30 minutes and £25 for an hour. Currently I teach one-to-one, but I would consider group lessons eg.siblings.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been a classroom teacher of Music for 34 years in secondary schools and a Head of Music for 28 years. I have given piano, keyboard, singing and theory lessons both privately and in school. I have also run many enrichment clubs at school such as Choir, Band, Keyboard Club, a capella singing etc. I have been actively involved in concerts, shows, musicals, music workshops etc.over the years both in and out of the school environment, leading, conducting, accompanying etc.
I have also accompanied for ABRSM instrument exams and GCSE exams.

Tutoring Approach:

Music is a wonderful means of expression. Everyone can enjoy it, whether it is for relaxation, developing skills such as coordination, improving concentration and boosting confidence.
Although I have been teaching for a long time, I am very forward-thinking and love all kinds of music. I am very easy to get on with and am able to work with all ages and abilities.
I strongly believe that music lessons should be fun and enjoyable and this is important regardless of whether my students are learning for fun or studying for exams.
