I am a 61year old mother of three with grown up children. I have many interests including cooking, reading, keeping fit, being a member of a community choir and knitting. In my spare time I volunteer with a number of charities for the elderly and disabled and as a Receptionist in the booking office of a local arts centre.
I have tutored number of children in preparation for the Year 6 SATS. In previous years, I worked in a local primary school helping groups of Year 2 children prepare for their SATS. I have currently have full availability and I can also offer tutoring in the school holidays.
I was a primary school teacher for fourteen years in the public sector and I am currently working as a supply teacher in a number of local schools. I have taught all the National Curriculum subjects as well as preparing children for Key Stage 1 and 2 SATS. My specialism is in Spanish and French. In the past, I have worked in a Leeds school delivering lessons in Spanish throughout Key Stage 2 and also teaching Spanish on the El Club Español programme at a school in Bradford.
I enjoy the experience of working with children on a one to one basis. I use the internet and published resources to teach, but also am prepared to adapt these to suit the needs of the individual.I have the patience and time to work with different individuals to help them achieve their best in a test situation. I can also offer sessions to help pupils prepare for the 11 plus and entrance exams for grammar school.
