I am a 28 yo graduate of the Universities of Glasgow and Edinburgh. I recently left as Master of Science in Sensors and Imaging Systems with merit certification. Prior to this achieved 2:1 honours in my Physics undergrad BSc.
Science has always been one of my favourite passions and I love teaching it too others as well learning about it myself! I particularly enjoy the disciplines of physics and maths which I have spent many years studying extensively.
In my spare time I enjoy working as a trainer at the local boxing gym, attending music events and playing bass guitar in a wedding band.
I have been tutoring maths and physics at nat 5 and higher level for over two years, having worked with more than a dozen students in the Glasgow and East Kilbride areas. Each regular student I have worked with in this period has shown improvements in their exam grades and displayed more confidence in their abilities. In my spare time I also teach boxing to kids at the East Kilbride boxing gym.
My approach is mainly to provide extra support for what students are being taught in the class syllabus and to give them an extra push needed to improve to the best of their ability in a subject.
I bring a friendly, enthusiastic and patient style to tutoring and do my best to make sessions as interesting and upbeat as possible. I make sure I am approachable so students are not afraid to ask me about anything they are having trouble with at all.
From my experience, good preparation is key to success, so I like to plan all lessons ahead of time with students. I maintain an electronic log book for each student so it is easy to inspect and analyse all progress made. This ensures learning is as effective as possible and allows us more time to concentrate on the things students might be having most difficulty with.
