This is how 2 referees rated Chris:
I am a 27 yo graduate of the University of Glasgow. I obtained a Bachelors degree in Physics with 2:1 honours and recently got my Masters in Sensors and Imaging with Merit in a joint degree with the University of Edinburgh.
After studying physics and maths for many years, I have grown to love teaching both to other students and anyone who wants to learn.
In my spare time I enjoy hill-walking, attending music events and playing bass guitar in a wedding band.
*NOTE* I am currently on holiday in Australia and will return on the 1st of November. I therefore will not be able to do any short notice lessons until after this date. Doing my best to reply fast as possible to all messages but I apologise if it takes longer than normal.
I have been tutoring in maths and physics at Nat 5 level for two years, having worked with a dozen students or so. I keep a fresh knowledge of the SQA syllabus for maths and physics at Nat 5 and Higher levels.
My approach is mainly to provide extra support for what students are being taught in the class syllabus and to give them an extra push needed to improve to the best of their ability in a subject.
I bring a friendly, enthusiastic and patient style to tutoring and do my best to make sessions as interesting and upbeat as possible. I make sure I am approachable so students are not afraid to ask me about anything they are having trouble with at all.
I also believe in good preparation being key to success, so I like to plan all lessons ahead of time with students. This ensures learning is as effective as possible and allows us more time to concentrate on the things students might be having most difficulty with.
Having been a student for many years, I can provide students with good tips for classes and exam preparation, as well as showing them all the online resources available to them.
