I've recently finished graduated from Cardiff University with my MPhys, and loved every moment of it.
I've loved learning about the mathematics behind the world we live in and how they fit in to every day life as well as the less ordinary parts of maths. One of the few things I've enjoyed more is sharing this knowledge and insight with others.
Throughout my univeristy studies I have taken part in many outreach projects to bring science to the classroom, and to the general public. These involved giving talks, lectures, running demos, and teaching classes on physics subjects ranging from our solar system to the way light behaves to rocketry. I've given these to audiences ranging from primary school children through to A-Level students, and to the general public. I have also tutored mathematics to students preparing for GCSE and iGCSEin both small groups and in one-to-one sessions.
I've been on both sides before, so I hope that I can understand and appreciate where students are struggling and why - not just "because it's hard" but why something in particular is hard. I find maths and physics to be fun and engaging, even if it isn't always easy; and I hope to share this with others.
Sometimes difficult steps need to be broken up into smaller pieces, sometimes they need to be applied to the real world or shown how and why they matter. Sometimes, all that's needed is a friendly and helpful study-budy.
