I am a passionate engineer working in the Specialised Technology and Research practice at Arup, with a broad engineering education from the University of Cambridge. I have a strong background in mathematics and physics and a drive for research, with particular focus on the offshore renewable energy sector. Outside of work I am a passionate musician, as an organist and conductor for a large Church here in London!
My teaching experience is largely in one-to-one tutoring, with GCSE and A-Level students in mathematics and physics based subjects. Additionally I have worked with a number of students on preparation for Oxford and Cambridge admissions, both focussing on Engineering admissions tests and wider interview preparation for physics, mathematics and engineering applicants, many of whom have been successful.
My teaching style is largely based on the renowned supervision teaching style at Cambridge - I believe that practice in application is one of the most important aspects of mathematical and engineering study, and base my teaching around discussing and analysing practice problems with relevant support from textbook literature. Of course, the needs of the student are most important, and my teaching style is flexible - I aim to provide a tailored style of tutoring based on the abilities of each student.
