This is how 4 referees rated Chloe:
Hello, I am a french PGDE student. I have a licence degree in English (language, literature and culture) and I did my third year in Glasgow already. Now I am back to become a modern french teacher. I am 23 and I love cinema, video games and traveling.
During my first years at the university I gave french courses to some foreign students (4 students, each of them for about 2 hours a week) and recently, during my master degree, I had to do internship : I taught french as a foregn language to prisoners in a jail, then in a language center and in a primary school. I have around 90 hours of teaching experiences already.
Most of the time, I adapt to what the learner wants, but I prefer a contextual approach : to learn vocabulary or syntax through documents and conversation. From my experience, people tend to learn more and in a better way when they are talking or studying a subject that is interesting for them. To that end, I mostly use videos, songs or novel extracts to motivate the learner. Then, I correct and explain to the learner as the questions raise or the mistakes are made : instead of learning a meaningless rule, they learn from an interesting subject which they'll be able to relate to.
