I obtained First Class, Division I in BSc Psychological and Behavioural Sciences at Cambridge University in 2020 and Distinction in MSc Clinical Mental Health at UCL in 2021. I am familiar with theories and practices in developmental psychology, social psychology, cognitive psychology, psychopathology (e.g. autism, depression, psychosis etc) and child and adolescent mental health. I could teach in English and Mandarin.

Tutoring Experience

I have been a psychology tutor for three years, mostly helping students who wants to apply for Oxbridge psychology. I am experienced in teaching research methods in psychology (e.g. study design, bias and confounders, hypothesis testing, statistics etc.), general psychology topics such as memory, intelligence, social cognition, decision making, early child development, gender development, and others. I am also an experienced personal statement editor. I have edited numerous PS over the years and conducted mock interviews for potential Oxbridge psychology candidates. Three of my students received offer from Cambridge. For anyone interested in clinical mental health, I could teach the aetiology, risk factors and treatment for mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, OCD, psychosis, personality disorder etc.

Tutoring Approach

I prefer an interactive approach in my teaching sessions, where I would pose questions and initiate discussions throughout the lessons. Students would need to actively consider the implications of the materials learned in the lessons and be quizzed the next lesson, I believe critical thinking is necessary and fundamental for learning.
