Before settling in Somerset ten years ago with my French husband and bilingual children I did live in Spain and France for a few years. Since university i have been lucky enough to travel to many different countries such as Thailand, Africa and the USA.
I have been teaching French and Spanish for over 10 years from Key stage one to A-level. My experience includes teaching in a variety of educational establishments and settings, they include; secondary schools, primary schools, pre-schools and private tuition.
To tutor correctly it is really important that I understand the student's final goal, once that has been established we can work out a tutoring plan which maps out the learning and measures the progress. It is also important to integrate the learner's interests to keep them motivated, which in turn accelerates the language learning. Finally it is important to enjoy the learning by injecting some humour that way the student is more confident to use the language and commits more to memory.
