If you are looking for a friendly, calm, reassuring yet professional English tutor, you have come to the right place. With a high pass rate, my pupils leave feeling confident and proud of their achievements.

Tutoring Experience

I have worked in secondary schools for the last ten years. My specialist area in a school environment has been teaching the KS3 and the GCSE national curriculum, but I am equally confident teaching KS5 and entrance exam/11+ papers for primary school aged children. 99% of my private tutees have increased their predicted grade by at least two grades.

Tutoring Approach

For GCSE tutoring, I find it very useful to go through past papers with my tutees, and use model responses to critique and inspire their own responses.

I usually set a homework task, which will be analyzed together at the next session, then use model responses to help redraft a new response.

With younger children, I use picture aids, word games, short tests among other techniques to allow them to access learning in an interesting way.

I always try to tailor my approach to the individual child's style of learning, to ensure they reach their personal goals.
