Having been brought up by a french father and an english mother, I am fluent in both languages. I was born and raised in France, until I left for England to go and study Psychology at the University of Liverpool. I enjoy meeting new people and learning from them as well as sharing my own experiences.
In order to fund my studies during my Bachelor and Masters degrees, I decided to advertise private French tuition. As a result, for the past 10 years, I have enjoyed teaching GCSE, A level, University students, and professionals seeking to improve their French for exams, travel, or even just for pleasure. It has been an enriching experience and I have decided to take it further and set up my own tuition business.
I have worked in 6 primary schools around Liverpool, teaching French to pupils from Reception to Year 6. The lessons consist of games and activities using various media and are based on the official schemes of work.
Having studied Psychology up to Masters Level, I can support students towards their exams in all the topics required on both the AQA and Welsh boards.
I believe that everyone has different ways of learning, motivation, interests and goals. For this reason, I tailor my sessions to meet the individual's needs and preferences. During my first tutoring session (free of charge!), I identify the person's level, the reason why they are learning the subject and their learning styles, in order to avoid getting confused later. I then suggest a 'learning plan' and discuss with the students how they would like to learn and what level they would like to achieve.
With this plan in mind, I use different, tailored and interactive tools and resources to ensure that every student progresses. I have a large bank of resources based on the National Curriculum from Reception to University level. Most importantly, I design every lesson to match my students' interests and needs.
